Welcome to Portsmouth Swim School
Portsmouth Swim School is a family run business, taught by highly experienced teachers. Both Paul and Lynn who run the school have been involved with swimming since a very early age. Between them Paul & Lynn have a great deal of experience ranging from teaching babies and small children right through to coaching and swimming at a national level.
From our experience we understand children progress faster in smaller classes where they receive more attention. All our classes are set to a maximum of four pupils per teacher so your child receives a higher level of tuition at a reasonable price.
We are committed to swimming and believe that it is incredibly important to be safe and to able to have fun in the water. At Portsmouth Swim School you can be sure your child is being taught using the very best techniques with lessons tailored to individual needs.
Don’t forget to check out our Adult Beginner Lessons and Hydrofit Sessions
Lessons are carried out at the brand new facility at Mary Rose School, just off Locksway Rd, Eastney and at Rachel Maddocks School, Eagle Avenue, Waterlooville. and at our new location Redwood Park School, Wembley Grove Cosham. The pools are warm, clean and fully equipped giving children and adults an enjoyable learning experience. The pools also offer large free car park in the well maintained grounds of the school.
Due to the pools being located in schools, all of our terms run along side school term time. However we do run crash courses during some of the school holidays at locations throughout Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.
Awards
We work alongside the ASA National Teaching Plan, where children are awarded certificates and badges as they progress through the scheme, this also enables children and parents to follow their progress and gives the children a sense of great satisfaction and achievement after all the effort they have put in throughout the term.
Learn to Swim Scheme
Portsmouth Swim School is pleased to be sponsored by the Southern Water Learn to Swim Scheme. Under the Southern Water sponsored scheme Portsmouth Swim School receives the very latest teaching equipment, staff swimwear and seminars on the most up-to-date swimming techniques. The children receive a swimming bag to celebrate starting the course and certificates and letters as they progress.
Every year the teachers of Portsmouth Swim School put forward nominations for our Southern Water Young Acheiver of the Year for a child we feel has achieved something special.
The winner from our school has the opportunity to be presented with his/her’s award at Southern Water’s headquarters by Olympic Gold Medalist Duncan Goodhew.
